June 25th, 2016 - G.R. Smith Lands 2nd Place Finish at Dublin
1After getting rained the night before at Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina), G.R. Smith stopped at Dublin Motor Speedway (Dublin, North Carolina) on Saturday night for the $5,000-to-win Rattlesnake Rumble. Posting the fastest time in a field of seventeen cars in qualifying, Smith was slated to start on the pole of the main event. After leading the first 47 laps of the feature, G.R. lost the top spot while deciding to play it safe through the lap-traffic late in the race falling back to a 2nd place finish behind Chris Ferguson with Willie Milliken, Dennis Franklin, and Kenny Collins rounding out the top five.

June 11th, 2016 - Bad Luck for G.R. at Eldora Speedway
1Competing in the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream, G.R. Smith made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night for three-day UMP DIRTcar sanctioned event. With seventy-two cars signed in, Smith broke a driveshaft in hot laps causing him to miss qualifying. Starting on the tail of his heat, G.R. pulled out on lap 5 shifting his focus to the rest of the weekend.

Returning on Friday with hopes of better luck than the previous night, Smith was gaining some ground in his heat until running into more car troubles. Starting in 7th, G.R. was up to 4th until suffering some electrical issues causing the car to turn off resulting in an early exit. With two nights of bad luck, Smith loaded up and ended the weekend early.

June 3rd, 2016 - Smith Captures Top Five Finish at Fayetteville
1After a month off, G.R. Smith returned to action on Saturday traveling to Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event. With twenty-three cars signed in for the Big Boss Man 50, Smith landed a top five finish in the feature. Battling for $7,500 payday in the A-Main, G.R. notched a 5th place finish behind Willie Milliken, Johnny Pursley, Chris Ferguson, and Donald Bradsher. (Joseph Swann Photo)
