June 24th, 2017 - G.R. Smith Wins Uncle Sam 30 at Lernerville
1G.R. Smith visited Lernerville Speedway Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Thursday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned Firecracker 100. After persistent rain in the area cancelled both preliminary events on Thursday and Friday, Smith was one of 45 cars signed in on Saturday for one preliminary feature and the $30,000-to-win main event. Following the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, G.R. came up one spot short of a transfer position in his heat race with a 5th place outing. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the $6,000-to-win show, Smith edged his way with 3rd and final transfer position in his consolation event. Starting in 22nd, G.R. Smith fell one spot in the 30-lapper recording a 23rd place outing.

1Later on Saturday evening, Smith logged a 7th place finish in his heat race giving him one final shot at the $30,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3, G.R. dropped one spot in the 12-lap consolation to place 7th, transferring him into the Uncle Sam 30 Non-qualifiers feature. June 13th, 2017 - Smith Visits Laurens County Speedway for Shrine Race
1Returning with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series, G.R. Smith headed to Laurens County Speedway (Laurens, South Carolina) on Tuesday night for the 36th annual Shrine Race. Drawing 18 cars for the $4,000-to-win A-Main, Smith laid down the second fastest time overall in qualifying locking him on the front row for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, G.R. slipped back to a 10th place outing in the 35-lap affair.

June 10th, 2017 - Runner-up Finish in School's Out 40 at Fayetteville
1On Saturday night G.R. Smith made the short trip to Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina) for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series sanctioned event. In a field of 21 cars, Smith edged his way into the feature with the fourth fastest time overall in qualifying. Rolling off 4th for the School’s Out 40 A-Main, G.R. improved two spots in the 40-lapper registering a runner-up finish behind Chris Ferguson with Johnny Pursley, Dennis Franklin, and Josh Langley completing the Top 5 finishers.

June 3rd, 2017 - G.R. Smith Opens Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Series at Hagerstown
1 G.R. Smith kicked off the Ernie D’s Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Series on Wednesday night at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland). With a stout field of 55 Super Late Models registered in for action, G.R. timed in 3rd fastest in his qualifying group but slipped back to a 11th place outing in his heat race. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature, Smith improved five spots to place 11th but came short of a transfer position.

Thursday night brought 43 cars to Susquehanna Speedway (Newberrytown, Pennsylvania) for another $4,000-to-win A-Main. Following the fastest time in his qualifying group, Smith locked his spot into the A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. Starting in 14th for the feature, G.R. dropped back to a 17th place outing in the 40-lapper.

1On Saturday night G.R. Smith traveled to Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Virginia) for the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series sanctioned USA 100. After timing in fourth fastest in his qualifying group, Smith placed 6th in his heat race positioning him 17th on the starting grid for the feature. With $20,000 on the line, G.R. Smith jumped up three spots in the 60-lap affair recording a 14th place finish.
